Sorry, I hope this doesn,t happen. You are fighter pilots, chopper pilots, forward combat ops. et al. But you can’t hang with the best special ops guys we have. Only because you are physically less capable than men. No offense. Just true.

Maybe one out of a hundred of you could make it through, but WTF? I am all for women in combat roles, but come on ladies, are you serious?

Give me all the shit you want, but I suspect most of you will agree…

Are you serious? Of course you do. That’s the whole point of the SEALS and every other elite military unit - all of the members are one in a hundred.

The order Panetta and Dempsey signed prohibits physical standards from being lowered simply to allow women to qualify for jobs closer to the battlefront. But the services are methodically reviewing and revising the standards for many jobs, including strength and stamina, in order to set minimum requirements for troops to meet regardless of their sex.

The proposals leave the door open for continued exclusion of women from some jobs, if research and testing find that women could not be successful in sufficient numbers, but the services would have to defend such decisions to top Pentagon leaders.

So I guess we’ll find out if there are enough women out there who can do the job. It sounds like the Navy thinks it can happen.

Of course politically it can happen, but you won/t see women goin in on a Bin Laden type job or a Somali pirate thing and doing the real work unless it is politically expedient,and watch, you will see a charlies angels team kick some ass within a year

Navy SEALs’ combat roles (as distinct from, say, Army Rangers’ combat roles) are mostly limited to aiming and pulling triggers, which requires much hand-eye coordination but not much muscular strength, and women can do it as well as men at the very least.

You might be astonished at the kind of women in the top one percent. There are some amazons out there, women who could pick you up and twist you in half. If they can pass the training course, why the hell not point them at the enemy?
