"Sorry--no matches" message

When I’m scrolling through the whole board first thing in the morning, there are maybe 12 pages of of threads that have piled up while I was asleep–often before I can get through all 12 pages, though, I click on page 8 or 9, and instead of getting page 8 or 9, I get a message saying “Sorry–no matches”.

Is this message board on a timer or something? If so, what amount of time do I have before I get this message? If not, why am I getting it?

I get the same thing sometimes. What I usually do is go through the pages and open all the threads I want to read in their own tabs, then read them after they’re all opened (rather than opening/reading, opening/reading, etc.). It’s quicker and seems to bypass whatever timing mechanism is at work.
