I click on New Posts. There are three pages of posts. I scan the titles and read some of them. I click for the next page of posts and I get this screen/message, “Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms.” This has happened numerous times before. What is going on?
How long a time is it between when you do the search and you get this result?
When this has happened to me there has usually been a long time–for example I went away and did something else. So my assumption is that there is a limited time interval that search results are stored.
Gracias, PT. That is probably the answer. I will attempt to stay more focused when viewing the Dope.
Alternatively, you can open the additional pages in new tabs, which is what I do.
Yeah, a search URL decays. However, it takes a lot longer than 2 minutes for it to do so which means you can just hit New Posts again.
Thank you IS. I thought that if I hit “New Posts” again that I would lose the previous New Posts, because they are no longer new as they have been already searched from my previous visit.
You are correct, you will lose the New Posts that you haven’t yet visited unless someone has replied to them in the intervening time.
You mean the New Posts that are no longer available because the search timed out? Yeah, I guess you would lose those.
