soul meets soul on lovers' lips - a kissable MMP

This happened:

We ended up losing the game 2-1. Damn. We are holding off on the petition until one guy who knows the AD personally speaks with him. Once we have all our ducks in a row, then we start our campaign.

#2 son has just ridden his bike with me ON THE STREET (we have no sidewalks on our street, so in order to learn, we have been driving him to a local park.). We celebrated this momentous event by riding up to Cold Ston Creamery for some ice cream.

Yay for ems’ dad! and FCD, of course.

Off to do school work. Daughter is at Homecoming with friends. I was at the ice cream place and so missed her dress and all. Grrr (I thought I had planned enough time-guess not). The husband says he took pics.

Mmmmmm, woo hoo for your Dad! Glad to hear he did so well. Continued prayers for him going out.

Didn’t do too badly at Target today - entrance fee was $48 and some change. I didn’t get to the grocery store, though, so no lasagne for me tonight. Oh well! I guess I’ll have to live vicariously with FCM’s, cause it sure sounded good!

Love the doggie pics, SnowBunny, although I missed the pic of MamaTiger!

That Halloween house looks great, Rosie. Sounds like your rehearsal went well too.

Finally getting around to watching “Heroes,” so will pause now for further concentration!

**MamaTigs ** - I don’t mind you staying over at all. It makes it easier on show day. And I also don’t mind if you want to use the rack unit again - my big shelf setup holds plenty of my stuff. I don’t intend to do any clay work this time - it’ll be too chilly to be outside with wet hands.

I may join you in knitting - I found out there’s a local chapter of Project Linus in my county and I’ve had a hankering to make afghans again. Since everyone in the family has more afghans than they could ever use, including me, I figured this will be a good way to meet my need to knit while benefitting someone else.

I just finished a batch of corn meal mush. My sweetie likes it fried, so it’s cooling in a loaf pan, and tomorrow I’ll slice it and fry it up for his breakfast. I’m not too keen on it myself, but I’ve got that yummerrific bread for me.

**tarra ** - I’ve got lots of lasagne leftover - come on by!!

If you’re sure, FCM – I may toss the table in anyway because I may have a few bigger things (a shawl I knitted while on airplanes, etc.) that I want to spread out a bit more than just the scarves. Anyway, we shall see.

I am really struggling to work today. Again. I figured out part of it – I’m just so stiff and achy all over from all the traveling that what I really need is a nice massage to relax me. It’s a good excuse, anyway!

ETA: Trust me, you didn’t miss anything with that horrid picture of me, herbs! There will be (hopefully) better ones from my trip that I’ll be posting in next Monday’s MMP; my British friend is one of these people who believes that a photo taken on a vacation doesn’t count unless it shows you standing in front of the thing you’re there to see. Me, I like to see pictures unimpeded by people, but I also learned years ago there is NO point in arguing with Margaret, so I posed for more than a few photos during my trip!

A quick drive by.

I had two avocados, they were slightly under ripe so I put them on top of the fridge/freezer for a day. I went to grab them last night but found only one avocado. I looked high and low, no avocado. So I mashed up the one avocado, mixed it with sour cream and salsa, and we ate tortilla strips and dip last night as a snack.

Just now, a little over 24 hours later, my husband brought me the missing avocado. He found it when he was getting ice. It was next to the trays.

Envy me.

Cuitlacoche passed gross and borders on toxic waste, from the looks of it.
**
pugs**, that pool looks fabulous!!

SageRat, I’m not the bread expert that Lili is, but I’ve never seen a bread recipe where the rise was longer than an hour (for regular bread, until it’s doubled in bulk in normal room temps.), then a punch down and then another rise for about an hour. That’s with regular powdered yeast. Quick rise is probably a little faster on the first rise.

ems, glad to hear that your father is doing well.

Oh OK. . . as long as you’re not going after the guys.

Ya gotta get while the getting is good. And believe me, the getting was good! Carpe diem!

squee! I love that song! All is forgiven. ::jumping Lunch’s bones:: ::grabbing key to room 304::
SCL, sending healing thoughts your way. Sorry to hear you’re not feeling well.

FCM, yes. . . yum! Applesauce cinnamon bread sounds wonderful. The aroma alone is worth it. I haven’t made a bread in a very long time. ::drooling::
**
rosie**, cool Halloween house, although that’s my least favorite holiday.
And let me be the first to wish you a:

Happy Birthday, rosie!!
Hey Dotty! ::doing the ~wave~::

Here’s my song for the night:
My music
[Loggins & Messina]Hey little girl want to dance with you all night long
The music got me buzzin’ and I feel pretty loose
I feel the rythm and it’s comin’ on strong baby baby
Lay the rythm on me baby, there’s power in the sound
With everybody jumpin’ we can bring the house down
So lets get to gettin’ while the gettin’ is right
And roll with the rythm tonight

God knows that I love my music
Ain’t no one gonna change my tune
Don’t ya know that I love my music
Ain’t never gonna change my tune[/Loggins & Messina]
Good night and good morning everyone!

A family member of mine did that 6 years ago (actually, 6 years ago this coming Tuesday). If it makes you feel better, he’s alive and well right now. His mind isn’t quite as sharp as it used to be, but it’s hardly noticeable these days. I’m very grateful for people like you that saved his life.

::+Happy Birthday, rosie!+::

Both Cloud Maiden and I are exhausted from a day of nothing. Well, I partied pretty hard last night. Anyway, it’s an early night for the both of us.

Morning all!

Happy Birthday Rosie!!!

Once again, HRH woke me up more times than I care to remember last night. I hope once her top incisors come through that she settles back to sleeping through. Nearly time to start weaning and stop the late-night (10pm) feed. I hate reading about people whose kids sleep from 7pm to 7:45am. GRRRRR!

Thanks for the song, Roo! ::waving madly::

My song today is another ear-worm from watching kids’ TV:

[Hi-5]You are some kind of wonderful
You’re wonderful
You are, you’re everything to me …[/Hi-5]

We went shopping on Friday and bought ourselves a new King-size bed. Completely justified purchase, as my parents arrive in three weeks and we didn’t have a bed for them to sleep in, so rather than buy them a new bed, we bought a new one for us, so they can sleep in our Queen-size! It also meant I had to buy new sheets. Fortunately, the Home Store had a sale on (up to 50% off), so the total cover charge for a new bed and mattress, three cotton percale fitted sheets (240 thread count), a curtain rail, a tab-top curtain and some new baking trays (a loaf pan and a new muffin/lamington pan) was only US$370. Very much pleased!!!

Off to fix me some breakfast and decide whether to trek out to Playgroup or just go shopping for new clothes for Noor instead!

hbr.
off to stalk corn.

Happy Birthday Rosie!!!

MamaTigs, I am really looking forward to your MMP on Monday and seeing the pics from your trip to Oregon. And I’ll be looking for the pics of you.

Oh yes, I woke up in the middle of the night, so am up for now. Thank Og it’s the weekend, at least! I’ve got designs on a Greek omelet later on (filling of onions, spinach and feta cheese). I also have a Ghiradelli brownie mix that I’m thinking of trying out. Yum!

Dotty, congrats on the new bed! Now if only HRH would let you get a good night’s rest, eh?

More later today …

Mornin’/Whatever Y’all!

mmmmmmmmm yay for your dad’s surgery goin’ so well. I’ll continue to keep him in my thoughts and prayers durin’ his recovery.

I have the sniffles. No coughing, sneezin’ and stuff like that there. Just a runny nose. I used most of a box of tissues yesterday and have one more unopened box. I’m thinkin’ I probably need to go buy a couple boxes cause I got a feelin’ I’ll go through that box at the rate I keep blowin’ my nose, which is now all sore and tender from all that honkin’. Oh and I’m layreader this mornin’ at church. Nuttin’ says inspiration like a passage of scripture accompanied by intermittent sniffin’.

Happy Birthday Rosie!!!
……*

Up and off to work. See you in the next MMP.

I’m starting to wonder - do we need someone to watch bbs2k??

Never mind.

Happy rosie-day!!! <flinging confetti with wild and reckless abandon>

The Halloween House reminds me of a place I pass when I take our trash and recycling to the convenience center. The yard is at least an acre full of every manner of tacky yard ornamentation you can name. The owner adds seasonal decorations - Valentine’s day, Easter, 4th of July, Halloween, Christmas, probably more - and it is a sight to see. I should take my camera next time I do a trash run. From the state of things there, I suspect a very bored retiree.

Weird, broken night with weird dreams, but I feel oddly rested. Today is clay day for sure. I also need to make the nanner bread. And wash a load of whites. And get psyched for going back to work. :frowning: All this after **FCD ** gets up and I feed him - for now, I have the boards and the Sunday funnies to read.

Miss Brandy doesn’t seem to have moved all night. I’m sure when I go to clean her box, I’ll find evidence that she has been up and about, but she’s lovin’ the afghan nest on the old recliner. It’s getting chillier, and she does *not * like cold. At least her coughing/sneezing seems to have stopped.

I think I have a thermometer out of calibration. The one hanging by the garage door said it was 45 out this morning. That particular one has fallen several times. The thermometer mounted outside the dining room door said 50, and since I went out in a robe and flipflops and didn’t freeze, I’m guessing the warmer reading is correct. There can’t be a temp gradient that severe across just 35 feet.

Anyway, I’m caffeinating. Critters are fed and crashed. It’s going to be a lovely fall day. Life is good.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ROSIE!!!
I’m awake and breakfasting before Mass.

I saw a $1000 stroller yesterday. It didn’t even have wings! How could it be worth $1000?! The world of Baby Stuff is filled with bewilderment. We went baby stuff shopping, decided it was all a coloured blur, and came home. I fed QD, her Best Friend, and Attacks Husband dinner. At nine, suddenly Mr. Lissar, Lazy Husband, Driving Husband, and Dishwashing Husband showed up.

It was a lot of fun. Spontaneous parties are fun.
Idiot Lazy Moron Whiny Co-Worker called in sick yesterday. Driving Husband very strongly suspects that ‘sick’ means, ‘wants to do pre-drinking for Nuit Blanche’, because Idiot Co-Worker was talking about doing so on Wednesday. This week i probably will push him down the stairs. After garrotting him.

Don’t hold back, **LiLi ** - tell us how you feel about your coworker. :stuck_out_tongue:

FCD is crashed on the couch, having ingested some fried mush and turkey bacon. He’s pretty sure all the dilaudid is out of his system, which means he’s hurting. Poor dear.

I’m allowing 2 sticks of butter to soften so I can make my nanner bread - I guess I shoulda looked at the recipe earlier, so I’ll be baking it a little later. Meanwhile, I should probably shower and don real clothing. My fleece robe isn’t appropriate garb for baking and claying. Plus I’m prolly kinda stinky… That wasn’t TMI, was it?? It’s likely due to a chocolate defiency. Must remedy that soon.

Good morning.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROSIE!

I am tired. Last night we went to some friends’ house. They just bought the place and, since I hadn’t seen it, wanted us to come out and see it. We had a couple drinks and watched a movie and a half.

Continued good wishes being sent to FCD and ems’ Da and family.

Those were lovely pictures snowbunny. I’d bring my lab in for a good grooming from you, but you live just a little to far away.

Dang, I’m so tired I’m nodding off while trying to type this. I think I’m gonna lie down for just a bit more.

Happy Birthday Rosie!!!

I’m up, caffeinated, fed and wasting time before my friend gets here and we toodle off to the Sox game. Fan Appreciation Day, for the last game of the season. Crappy season yes, but that’s why they call us fans, because even if they lose, we’re there.

At least the weather’s nice.

Bus Kid stayed here last night, and is crabby this morning. Woe is her, the entire world conspires against her, she has to buy her own coffee/breakfast.

Later!

Morning, all. I ended up staying up waaaay too late last night working 'cause I was on a roll, so Papa Tigs thoughtfully let me sleep in this morning. Which I almost managed to do, no thanks to one particular Idiot barking his fool head off every chance he got. :dubious:

I fear that since his name change, bb has also had a personality transplant or something!

Happy Birthday, Rosie!

I got nuttin’ much this morning except a need for more caffeinating, so I shall get back to it and see if I can get next pile of work done. This week is going to be busy, alas.

I’m up & ingesting coffee - I have been productive and already have a load of laundry in the washer. That is my plan for the day - laundry, with a break to go have coffee and cake at a new German deli Librarian Friend wants to check out.

I may end up going to the Doc in the Box; I am still sick. I think I might have sent it to Swampy - or he sent it to me. I really hate to spend the money if it is just a cold, but my chest hurts and I am starting to cough a lot. Grrrrrr. I hate being sick. I don’t have time for it.

~Happy Birthday, Rosie!~

I got some wonderful beads at DB’s store (same chain, different branch) last week. Nice lampwork glass beads and some dichromic glass. Most of them are really too fancy to go with my beads but I made myself a necklace and have plans for another, plus one for Librarian Friend. Usually the beads at that store are plastic, which I don’t use very much, but these were a find.

Off for more coffee - happy Sunday everyone!
