Uhm, not to be a smartass, Bosda, but have you considered e-mailing or PM’ing DeviantArt and asking?
That might be the best place to begin your search.
FWIW, a quick google yielded no results, nor did a few “quotes” websites.

DeviantArt is the name of a website, not an on-line moniker of an individual.
:smack:
My research indicates it may be Liang Youyu, but I’m still looking for a good cite.
Whoever said it, the words are obviously inspired by Sun Tzu’s Art of War. I seem to have misplaced my copy of it, or I would be able to cite the relevant passages.
Okay, now I’m finding Mulan lyrics and not liking it one bit.
Sorry, Bosda. I’ve exhausted the resources I have at hand.
Though unlikely as the original source, these lyrics appear in the song “I’ll Make a Man Out of You” from the Disney movie Mulan.
Here’s the chorus:
(Be a man)
We must be swift as the coursing river
(Be a man)
With all the force of a great typhoon
(Be a man)
With all the strength of a raging fire
Mysterious as the dark side of the moon

But it’s likely to be the reason the person chose it as a sig.
Hmmm…anybody know the classical source?
This reminds me of a question I was going to ask a few weeks ago and forgot.
A relatively popular sig line on DeviantART and elsewhere is “You must die! I alone am best!”
I recognize it as the opening sound clip in The Bloodhound Gang’s “I Hope You Die.” That’s probably why the DeviantART people are using it as a sig. But if you listen to the song, it sounds like it’s a borrowed line from a movie or TV show.
Google searching only turns up people sig lines or the BHG song…no mention of an original source. I’m sure it’s an exceedingly obscure reference…sounds like it could be an old kung-fu film or something.
So it’s the same kind of question to the OP. Anyone know where it’s from?

Maybe it’s on Youyutube.
What makes you think Mulan’s not the original source? David Zippel was nominated for an Oscar on for his lyrics in Mulan, he’s credited with the lyrics on that song, and quite frankly those lines sound faux-Chinese/not remotely classical to me.
Some relevant quotes from Sun-Tzu:
The onset of troops is like the rush of a torrent which will even roll stones along in its course.
In raiding and plundering be like fire, in immovability like a mountain. Let your plans be dark and impenetrable as night, and when you move, fall like a thunderbolt.
How subtle and insubstantial, that the expert leaves no trace. How divinely mysterious, that he is inaudible. Thus, he is master of his enemy’s fate.
