Yeah, this is a South Park episode I’ll probably never watch again, as are about 10% of the episodes that have aired so far. I get the feeling that the writers wanted to do a Britney Watch-themed episode, but weren’t sure where to go with it, and had NO IDEA how to end it until the last 24 hours.
So where is the doper discussion about how much of your head you can blow off and still continue living in real life? What if you followed it up with a hemicorporectomy and amputation of both arms?
The connection to the historical sacrificing of young women was the point. Good crops require a human sacrifice. We still do it but we drive them into killing themselves with excessive adoration and the pressure of endless following and flash photography. It was not as compelling a theme as some others.
Yeah, me too, and I’m usually not all that squickable. I’ve always been a huge South Park fan but I turned it off at about the time her manager showed up at the hospital. I don’t remember any other time I turned off an episode because I just didn’t want to see any more of it.
According to the transcript at South Park Scriptorium, the words are
Hetus. Alte omnebus.
Virtu e poquebus.
Rectus. Hoc honebus
They are nonsensical Latin words that have no direct translation into English.
http://spscriptorium.com/index.htm has every script from all 12 seasons of South Park online for anybody who needs to refer to specific episodes. The latest scripts are usually up 2-3 days after the episode first airs.
I had a really hard time looking at the Brittany with 2/3’s of her head gone. But they did make me laugh several times. Definitely one of the creepier episodes.
