Born and raised in Georgia, still living there now, though I have moved to Atlanta to get away from my multitude of relatives. It’s a beautiful state, with warm winters, not much in the way of hurricaines or earthquakes. Some of the people though… sigh.

I live in Tennessee now, in the Nashville area. I was born and raised in NY state, then lived in Virginia for 25 years, and I’ve been in TN for a year and a half.

Just a heads-up, Southern USA Dopers: the thread for non-USA Dopers is clicking right along and Antonius Block reports that the summary file there now has 324 unique names.

With the additions (and a few deletions) to the summary file for this thread, we now stand at 229 Dopers, and these are the biggest states:

all other Southern states have less than 10 Dopers being counted.

I was born and raised in West “By God” Virginia.
Went to the University of Tennessee.
I now have lived in South Carolina for the past 7 years.

Then it’s time for my Kentucky vote. I was born in Ohio but have lived in KY for all of high school, plus a 9-year encore much later as an adult.

I think this gives Kentucky 10.

Thanks for including me in the list! I’ve made no secret of living in Tennessee.

Although I grew up in Gibson County, I’ve lived in Nashville since the mid-1960’s when I came here to go to school. Nashville had only about 100,000 people then and wasn’t Metro.

I still ate at the Pancake Pantry though and Mr. Baldwin would take my check for my order!

“The Forest Primeval” refers to my backyard, my state of mind and my fifty year fascination with the poem “Evangeline.”

Louisiana born, 3 years in Virginia, back in Louisiana, just a different part of it due to Katrina. I say ya’ll and sometimes dawlin. If I go out of the South I really put on the accent.

Yep, I’m still in KY for the moment. I recently graduated college so a relocation in the near future is possible. I will provide an update at the appropriate time if it indeed arrives.
