soya bean roasting

i was wondering if anyone knows how to roast SOYA BEANS. so far, the typical methods have done nothing to roast the tough little buggers.
thanks.

Bump.

Are you trying to roast dried soy beans, of the sort used to make soup? I’m guessing it would work better if you used fresh soy beans. I have no first-hand experience at trying to roast soybeans, so I can’t help much.

I love the Internet.

How to roast soybeans (make soynuts).

Basically, you take dry soybeans, blanch them (simmer them for 5 minutes), then you discard that water, get some fresh boiling water and cook them for 15 minutes. This guy says they’ll make better soynuts if you then “de-hull” them. I presume he means roll them around in paper towels until the hulls come off.

Then you dry them as much as possible with paper towels, and deep fry them.

that’s great duck duck goose. thanks so much. perfect.
