Space Shuttle Video

I just saw the video that the Space Shuttle shot as it climbed into orbit. Spectacular to say the least. The problem is, CNN is only showing a short clip. Does anybody know where I can find the entire video?

I watched it live on TV!

But MSNBC has some video.

Quite a few short rocketcam videos here.

And then there’s this - second file down at the bottom of the page, “Rocket Cam Liftoff”, a 100mb+ .mpeg file. As far as I can tell, the video and audio is uncompressed, which accounts for the ridiculous file size:running time ratio (it only lasts for around 5 minutes). But this also means it’s quite crisp even if you expand it to full screen size. And it’s some damn cool footage - one continuous shot, from liftoff to just after first stage separation. The smaller “Upper Stage” footage is good too; it’s an internal view of the separation.

Of course, if you’re going to download it, you’ll want to use GetRight or a similar download manager (assuming you’ve got a dial-up connection). If anyone knows of any other high-quality, continuous shot rocketcam footage like this on the net, please post links here.

This is the company that makes the camera. They have posted smallish video clips from several launches.
