Spam from Facebook friends

I’ve been getting a few spam emails from people who are my Facebook friends. They’re like this: The person’s name is in the From position. The person’s email is not his or her email address. The body of the message has only a link. Since the emails are not the correct ones, these messages go into my spam folder. I do not click the links.

I suspect that there’s a 'bot going around that finds FB friends and my email address from FB. Then it appends their names onto emails, using the spammer’s email address. If this is the case, then is it correct that my login/account information has not been compromised?

I have been getting the same type of spam (FB friend as the name, but incorrect return e-mail address, message basically just a link), so I’ll be interested as well in peoples comments.

I don’t do Facebook, but I get these all the time from people I know who just simply aren’t computer savvy. Their email has been spoofed, and the address book has been stolen, and some bot is faking the whole email. Talk to these people in person or on the phone or show them the email – its very likely exactly as I described.
