Spam like I have never seen before!

OK, beat this. Today I signed up for the “Howitworks.com” newsletter, that has to be where this came from.

I just opened my Hotmail (which I use as my main email). and I see an email from the hotmail staff telling me that my account size it too large. I think “WHAT? I just cleaned out all the crap (couple hundred old emails) a couple of days ago!!” I then look at my “bulk email folder” where most spam is filtered (thank god). I had 900 emails from the same spammer!! Not even porn.

900!!

Luckily I could just delete the whole folder.

You know… I have used hotmail for almost 4 years as my main email address. For 3 of those 4 I got almost NO spam, and if I DID I knew where it came from and why. Then one day I maybe entered my email address into a website to win a contest or something. Or. A wonderfully good hearted person entered my address into a not so wonderfully good hearted E-CARD site that sold my inputted address, and now I get about 80 -100 spams per week… luckily most are filtered into the bulk mail folder that gets regularly deleted. I can deal with that.

But I sure as hell hope I don’t start getting 900 spams a day from now on.

Whats your record?

I warn everyone: Please, do not send me E-cards as they are justa way to harvest email addresses. I still get an E-greeting now and then. I feel people who send those things ought to hung by their ears.

Well, you have me beat. Once I got 500 identical emails from someone overseas. I was amazed and outraged. I didn’t even want to download it (I was using Outlook Express) so I deleted it from Mindspring’s web mail. It took frickin’ forever. I emailed my ISP about it, haven’t heard back - but haven’t gotten any more spam like that again either. (Knock on wood.)

My hotmail account isn’t quite that bad. What’s been irritating me lately is that the Bulk Mail folder does NOT get any spam made to look like it comes from an msn.com address. Why? Because the Bulk Mail couldn’t POSSIBLY filter out MSN content!

It used to be I saw zero spam in my actual inbox until this started happening. Ah well.

I just went to my own Hotmail account & checked the folder.

No spam.

Never has been, never will be.

NYYAAAAH-NYYYAAAHHH! :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:

Thats exactly the same here! I get porn spam everyday from an email address that I can NOT filter. Why? Because the only thing that appears from the “sender” is @msn.com with NOTHING in front of it. This ticks me off no end.
