I felt bad for the family members. It seems when you have the good life and lose it when your bad practices catch up, you might go suicidal. It was so nice of the guy to escape prison and then go on a killing spree of no less then his family. At least he didn’t fuck up his own death.

She may not have intended to help him escape. According to this he forced his wife into the car:

Yep, all of the local news reports indicated his wife was an unwilling participant in the escape. The teen-age girl was apparently his daughter from an earlier marriage. Here is the most detailed story I can find.
