I’m planning to register Zone Alarm Pro in the near future, and it appears to come with the software for SpamNet.
The raw tonnage of spam I get in a day is pretty staggering, even with server-side protections. Has anyone used this program, and is it worthwhile? Particularly, is it worth the $4/month or so that it costs? Is anything better, or just as good and cheaper? (I can’t tell that the software they include with the Zone Alarm registration comes with any free months, so I’m assuming it doesn’t.)
I use the free version of SpamNet’s plugin for Outlook. It catches about 50-70% of the spam I receive (on the order of 10-20 messages/day) and it occasionally has had a false positive (on the order of 1-2/every 6 months), usually in the form of online newsletters or promotional offers from ‘reputable’ merchants such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Wine Spectator, et cetera.
Because my spam problem is relatively minimal, I haven’t bothered to investigate anything more robust. It sounds like you’re in a different situation, so my experiences may not be as applicable as you want.
