There is an old mariachi song called “La Mancornadora”. I’ve looked up mancornadora many times in various dictionaries and have turned up nothing. I would like someone to give me a clue. I’m not sure if this is a general question or not. If not, I would be grateful if the moderator would put the thread in the right place. Thanks.
I believe it means a female traitor (traitoress?).

MANCORNADORA.- Mujer liviana que tiene amores con dos a mas hombres simultáneamente
That would be “An easy woman who has affairs with two or more men simultaneously.”
And no, I had never heard of this word before either.
According to Mrs. Bricker, the word has several meanings. The root word is mancuerna. It can mean a pair of anything, especially cufflinks; a belt or rope that cowboys use to lasso; a pair of inmates chained to the same chain; or a pair of allies. Obviously, the key element is “a pair”.
In a song, La Mancornadora probably means a woman who ties two separate things together, or who ties something or someone to her.

Well, my dictionary defines mancornar as “(a) to seize by the horns; to hobble. (b) to join, couple.” So it’s a woman who does that, in some figurative sense.
I greatly appreciate your suggestions. Bricker, I was thinking that it had to do handcuffs, since a mancorn is a cufflink and it is slang for a handcuff to some spanish speakers.
Poner los cuernos (to put horns on someone) is to cuckold someone. Don’t know if that helps.
