Spanish immersion in Costa Rica

I have always wanted to do a Spanish immersion program. I have always wanted to go to Costa Rica. I have two weeks of vacation that I must take in the next four months.

Have any of you out there done one of these programs? Do you have any recommendations for me? Is it a worthwhile thing to do for two weeks?

There seems to be a couple of dozen of these programs that I’ve found from searching the web. In some of them you are supposed to board with a family but I’d rather live in a nice hotel.

Thanks,
Haj

I haven’t done it in Costa Rica, but I did it in Spain (a four-week course). Haj, you really should live with a family. That’s where you’ll really get in your practice of the language. Two weeks isn’t nearly enough time to really learn anything if you aren’t completely immersing yourself in it and you won’t be if you’re living on your own.

I recommend Amerispan, a program that has Spanish language schools in Mexico and other Latin American countries, including several in Costa Rica. You can live with a family (they arrange this) and there is a small student/teacher ratio. Buena suerte!
