Spanish language classes abroad?

Greetings all,

Can anyone tell me of a good Spanish language camp. I would like to learn Spanish and feel the best way is to immerse myself in it. I am nervous about some of the countries I have read about that offer such courses because of much political instability in South and Central America. I would prefer a two or three week type course at a fairly reasonable cost. Also, has anyone tried it? What did you think? How was the experience? Any related info would be much appreciated.

TIA

I wouldn’t lump all the Latin American countries together. Chile is a good deal more stable than Guatemala. I don’t think you need to leave the country if you don’t want to. I believe there are colleges and private companies in the U.S. that offer summer language programs like those you describe.

Spain’s pretty stable, if you don’t mind the occasional ETA bomb.

I did a course there called Madrid Plus. It was pretty good and the price was very reasonable (it’s been a few years, though). The one thing I’d say is that you absolutely HAVE to live with a Spanish-speaking family if you really want to improve your language skills.
