I had a boat mechanic work on my 150 Yamaha outboard motor; it would not start, and the mechanic used what he called a spark plug jumper board. Where could these possibly be purchased? Also, is that the correct name for them?
What did it look like?
I have a spark tester for my MR series Yamaha inboard engines, 4 stroke with coil built into the plug connector. The spark tester is just a device that goes between the plug and the coil/connector, and has a clear window so you can visually see a spark in present.
I haven’t worked much on the outboards, don’t even actually know if they have a single spark coil, or individual ones for each cylinder, like the MR’s.
I’ve never heard of a ‘spark plug jumper board’, and looking up the service tools for Yamaha’s, I don’t see anything similar.
