Did I see what I thought I saw? It’s the only thing that seemed to make sense, but I had no frame of reference. Possibly the most gruesome photo I’ve seen.
Guy woulda made it if that pesky tunnel portal hadn’t been in the way.
I wonder if it was a good thing or not that the overpass was there. It stopped him from crossing over to the other side and potentially saved some folks from a head-on. But it’s not certain that that’s what would have happened. Maybe he would have just skidded out in the grass and stayed in the median.
It’s been a while and I can’t say I studied the image in depth, but I will say your assessment jibes with what I recall. Ew.
I only did because I was trying to make sense of what I was seeing. It was confusing to me.
The family sued the CHP for leaking the photos and won $2.4 million, but the photos have not been removed from the internet. They are still available on several websites.
I took one for the team and looked at them again but I still can’t say what is what.
Her body is mostly intact (she’s sitting in the driver’s seat and her upper torso and both arms are visible) and there’s hair about where hair should be but everything between her neck and hair is unrecognizable to me. I imagine that a doctor may be able to identify the structures which are now where her face used to be, but I can’t.
