Jeez, this quarter is a train wreck for me.
I created dime special for Saturday night if anyone is feeling beneficent.
I’m not seeing it, O.
It was at 7 pm central. You finished fourth, kyy took third for .07, and dag got second for .10. My winner’s share was .19, so I’m up to .26. It was a good game - over in about 15 minutes. The 8-player game took about 45 minutes.
So what’s next? A .02/.04 ring game that I can buy in for .20, or should I set up another MTT for a dime?
Sorry guys for missing last week…wife in hospital with acute appendicitis. She’s doing better now after surgery and resting at home. I will try to get on tonight.
Tonight’s Results:
Standings:
1 Yeticus Rex 69.5
2 Dag Otto 69.5
3 Kyyrewyyoae 67.8
4 Duke of Rat 63.5
5 Asterion 57.2
6 Robot Arm 48.2
7 Oslo Ostragoth 45.2
8 Miss Take 45.0
I advance! (Despite losing .1 point. )
Holy crap, Yeti piled on the points with the win.
And it is not a tie for first - Yeti leads by 69.476 to Dag’s 69.470. Wow, if this was the last game of the quarter…
Something I didn’t know about Missy. I’m in awe. I was so far from competing in state anything in grade school or high school…
I take it back (somewhat). In the first year of academic competitions at my high school, my team took third of 8 (? - it was 35 years ago) in the only event in which we were entered, a regional-type thing. If we had experience and had practiced, who knows?
My shining moment was knowing that the sine/cosine/tangent of some angle was -SQRT(2)/2.
OK, not so much shining as dimly glowing, but I knew that sucker and was super-quick on the buzzer.
We have to count our points where we can.
Results tonight:
1 MissTake
2 Robot Arm
3 Kyy
4 Duke
5 Dag
6 Oslo (my third 6th place finish, tieing with Root)
7 ast
8 Yeti

3 Duke of Rat 62.7

5 Miss Take 54.0
6 Asterion 53.9
7 Robot Arm 52.4
8 Oslo Ostragoth 43.6
I can post again! And I’m back in 1st! It’s going to be a good day.
Thank you for posting the results, O.
I’m no longer in the cellar!
WHEEEEEEEEEEEE
Hey Duck…get yo ass back in here!
I’m only 1 point behind. Thanks for the vote of confidence, man.
Well, I don’t know about him, but I’m out this week. I get to be in Albany on Thursday night. Isn’t that delightful?
I meant for Duck to come back and post here, not to run roughshod all over you…that’s MY job!
Whas up, biotches?
Well, I’ll be driving from Yosemite to Las Vegas on the 30th, then heading out for L.A. on October 2nd. It’s probably too late to plan any real get together, but if anyone is in the neighborhood and wants to watch me lose in a for-real casino, let me know.
So, now, where should I stay?
There’s the guy we know and love!
You’re probably right about the 30th…but you can’t go wrong with about 80% of the hotels there. My favs are Monte Carlo, MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay.
As for your drive from Yosemite to Vegas, DO take highway 120 to the backside of Yosemite and drive south on US 395 to at least Big Pine. From there you have 3 choices:
Take the 168 East from Big Pine through the White Mountains (and just south of the ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest (a worthwhile detour)), to the 266 to US 95 south to Vegas. 256 miles. Link 1.
Stay south on US 395 until Lone Pine. See Mount Whitney rise 10,000+ feet above the Owens Valley floor (you could detour on the Mt. Whitney trailhead road for about 1-2 hours). Take the 136 East out of Lone Pine and pass the north side of Owens Lake (partially dry lake…interesting history behind it) to Hwy 190 East and continue onward through the north side of Death Valley. It will be hot but not the summer’s 120+ degree hot…more like 95-110 hot. Continue towards Death Valley Jct and go south on Hwy 127 for just a few hundred feet to State Line road (to Pahrump, NV). Then head south on Hwy 160 from Pahrump to the I-15 which puts you just a tad south of Vegas proper. 265 miles total, but may be about 30 minutes longer than choice #1. Worthwhile IMHO. Link 2.
Stay south on US 395 all the way down to Hwy 58 (Kramer Jct.) and head East on 58 to Barstow and then take I-15 north to Vegas…a drab of a drive (which you’ll see a good stretch of when you go from Vegas to L.A. anyways). The roads will be the best of the 3 choices. 347 miles total and BUT 55 minutes longer than choice #1. Link 3.
OTOH, I wouldn’t mind meeting up with you over lunch on Oct. 2nd when you’re taking I-15 (in Victorville) when you go from Vegas to L.A. I’m buying.
Also, I have the cable company coming in this afternoon to find out what the hell is going on with my IP addresses and the DHCP(?) not able to access the assignment of them??? Hopefully they will be able to resolve this for tonight’s game. So, pencil me in for tonight.
Tonight’s results
Wonder if that’s enough to overtake Kyy? I fear it won’t be.
