Speech to text on PC and mobile recommendations

Does anyone have speech to text dictation setup for PC and/or mobile that they use a lot and is fairly accurate? I am talking software/app and microphone recommendations.

I have to fill out a form three to five times a day on Google Docs that has two places where I have to write a paragraph or two. i am out in the field most days. It is kind of a pain to have to sit down and bang it out on my keyboard day after day.

I would love to sit in my car and dictate the paragraphs into my mobile phone after a site visit. I also wouldn’t mind sitting in my quiet office and doing the same thing on my Windows 10 laptop if necessary.

unsure if this fits your requirements … but google, herself, has a “voice-typing” utility within it’s documents arena … supposedly, meant for that specific purpose. i’ve never used it … heck, i rarely, if ever, access google documents.

Current versions of MS Office also have inbuilt dictation functions. I have tried them out and they seemed pretty good

So far I have tried the voice recognition included with Windows 10 and the one included with Google Docs and the Google Docs one seems better so far.

I tried them out using a couple of old microphones I had lying around the house and mic quality makes a huge difference.

Haven’t been as successful with the voice to text included with my android phone. but haven’t been able to play around with it yet.

My father gave me Dragon a couple of years ago. I barely fiddled with it before tossing it aside, so I can’t really speak to whether it’s any good or not, but my father is a longtime computer guy, and he usually makes pretty solid choices as far as software. Honestly, I mostly just came in here to reminisce about how amusing it was trying to calibrate the thing. It would knock “antidisestablishmentarianism” out of the park, but somehow would be defeated by the word “bitch” no matter how many times I bitched at it.
