Speed/Red Light Camera Idea/Question

The Red Light Camera’s around here are a new nuisance (Chicago) for everyone, I indeed do see their purpose, but I also know they are just a money grab for this greedy city, just like the $1.44 Soda/Pop tax coming up and the tax for plastic grocery bags. I am curious if anyone knows of any ways to beat them outside of arguing/contesting? I had an idea to hook up a sensor and camera flash to detect the flash and immediately send a flash right back (so as the license plate is just a bright spot to the red/speed camera). Would this work? Any and all input would be appreciated.

Some places have ruled these cameras are unconstitutional, and for good reason. Apparently some insurances companies do not like these cameras either (artificially changing traffic patterns/causing accidents). I don’t want to be a victim of fast a loose money grabbing that this city engages in constantly.

The way to beat them is to call up the members of City Council and the Mayor and tell them that you want them to get rid of them.

One sure-fire way to beat them is to not run red lights. Other ways would probably run afoul of the rules here to not encourage illegal activity.

City Council stuff doesn’t work. I am not asking for anything illegal, just curious if some things would work in Theory. Running red lights is not in anyone’s interest, I am asking about hypothetical situations, not engaging in anything illegal per say. What may be illegal in one place, is legal in another. Just wondering about other’s theories or ideas on the matter.

We started to pay for plastic bags last year. Many people objected but they soon got used to it.

We have cameras everywhere: lights, speed, junctions, bus lanes. Motorists seem to just keep on paying up instead of following the rules.

What do you mean “City Council stuff doesn’t work”? Sure it does. That’s how you got the law in the first place.

Maybe you meant…City Council stuff is too hard for me.

Maybe I meant, moving up the ladder from Alderman, and attempting city council meetings with support, is a fruitless endeavor in here, especially when a way for the city to make money is involved.

Or.

Maybe I meant, if you don’t have anything constructive to say on the matter and want to be insulting, you should… well use your imagination if you have one.

Since the basic idea here is to find a way to run a red light without getting caught, the legality of the method is immaterial. Intentionally running a red light is a violation of the law, and as such, discussing methods to avoid getting caught doing it runs afoul of our rule preventing the encouragement of illegal acts.
