Spend $450 in our mall and we'll send you to a local theme park!

Hey, Potomac Mills, fuck you! If I want two tickets to Kings’ Dominion I’ll pay for them myself, there is no way in hell I’m going to spend 450 bucks in your mall. For that price they’d better be season tickets for life!

Forgot the most important part: in order to get the “free” tickets, one has to spend that money on the same day.

I’m confused: They aren’ t selling the tickets, right? It’s supposed to be a freebie if you spend a cubic assload of money in their mall? So where’s the beef?

You don’t have to spend the money, but if you already are they’re giving you a gift. You want they should give you a better freebie?

Is it a crappy mall or something?

I too, am confused. I spend $450/day in a mall at least 7 or 8 times a year - I think getting a little freebe/perk would be kinda nice.

(Who, admittedly, probably shops a tad too much).

I can’t remember the last time I bought anything at a mall. Or even was in a mall.

I was in a mall the other day, but I was visiting my friend the concierge there.

Also I often walk through underground malls to get from metro station to metro station.

I think the last thing I bought at a mall was something for my cubicle at a dollar store.

Is that metric, or imperial?

Well, I’m going to agree with the OP here…

…mainly because I wouldn’t have a chance in heck of winning the things. $450 is more than I make in a paycheque…sometimes more than I make in a month, during the school year.

Geez!

Hey, Alice, will ya lend me those new pants you got in this thread?

Yer link doesn’t work, but I assume that you mean my new Gap Huttons:

Waist - Slightly Below
Leg - Slightly Loose
Leg Opening - Straight

They were an excellent purchase - I’ve worn them lots. Here, just let me seal up this fed ex package, and they’ll be on their way to you…

But it’s not a prize to win- it’s just a “thank you for spending a cubic assload of money” gift. We have places around here where if you buy a car you get a free dinner gift certificate. I think it’s a nice gesture, especially if you’re spending the money anyway.

OK, maybe it’s just me. I had just heard about the promotion on the radio and posted my immediate reaction. The thing about Potomac Mills is it’s one of those discout outlet malls; their stuff isn’t crappy but it’s cheap and all their commercials promote the potential for huge discounts. I have no problem spending $450 in one day (hell, I just spend $550 at Circuit City) but for some reason that last commercial really got on my nerves. It probably has something to do with the fact that they’re advertising “huge discounts” and “we’ll give you a freebie if you spend a cubic assload of money” at the same time.

I always enjoyed going to Potomac Mills - it’s an aerobic experience - isn’t the mall like a mile from end to end? It sure feels like it when your feet are tired.

I never spent that much money there, but if I did, a couple of tickets would be a nice bonus.

What is this, DC Doper Day? Everytime I open a thread it features a DC person bitching about something.

And heck, I was at Potomac Mills yesterday. Buying Furniture. I finally ordered the new couch and the way-cool recliners. Lotsa bux dropped.
