I’d like to add that, if you cook a pound of spaghetti (or other pasta) the usual way, you can divide it into servings in baggies, and it freezes well. Then you just have to nuke a single serving when you want some.
Rice? Not so much.

Meeko, may I ask
Is this just a question out of curiosity, out of necessity, or out of the desire to avoid the process of actually boiling water and putting pasta into the water?
I should have stated earlier. Im a traditonal college student living in a dorm room.
Everyone my age grew up with the microwave. Its hard to neglect it, if it can help.
Add to this, that I finally figured out how to do ramen in the microwave, and you see what causes me to bring up the question.
I know it will probably be the same length… but it seems faster to me.
Curiosity and Nescessity. I could do it the regular way… but hope not.
And I was just about to say, “why don’t you just wait until you get some pots? That’s what we did.”
