Today episode appeared to have a lot of easy questions (answers). I got a lot more right than I usually do and even got some art questions correctly which is probably my worst subject.
I got all the DJ correct and the FJ was really easy IMO. However, only one contestant got it right.
I wa a bit stunned that only one player got the Final Jeopardy correct----It seemed an easier question than the average, and that young man was obviously bright…
Of course, I guess they are all easy if you know the answer.
They probably overthought it and did a “it couldn’t possibly be that” reaction. My guess is that they thought about the snipes that don’t exist and dismissed it.
seaborgium, so sorry to see your winning streak come to an end. I hope to see you in the Tournament of Champions! In the meantime, you’re welcome on the Dope anytime.
Sorry for bumping an old thread, but I just wanted to say that I agree that the Final Jeopardy I lost on was an easy one. My head just wasn’t in the right place for Final Jeopardy that day; pure recall and association, which is the rest of the game, was no problem, but puzzling it out, which Final Jeopardy tends to demand, was beyond me at that time.
When I taped my first five games, I was only doing the video game testing, but when I taped the season premiere, I was working both jobs. Before my first taping day, I slept in on Monday and stayed home from work (I’m a night-shift game tester). Before my second taping day, I woke up early on Monday, took care of the kids, and didn’t go to my other job. The echo of that early Monday may have thrown me off my game.
But then, I have to be glad that my off day waited till I was a five-day champ. I also have to be glad that I can still rack up over twenty grand in an off day, which makes me confident of future success, should I get invited to the Tournament of Champions.
I really would have liked to break a hundred grand, be the eleventh person to become a six-time champion, and (yes) avoid Samson comparisons, but I can’t complain about a performance that assures me that, although I lost, I’m probably not done.
Bumping this because Stefan is now in the semi-finals of the Tournament of Champions and all of the “nicknames he got on the Internet” were used in this thread.
Fess up seaborgium, were you referring to us?
Finally catching up on my DVR shows.
Seaborgium came in 3rd in the Jeopardy Tournament of Champions.
And apparently never gave a correct response to a final Final Jeopardy query.
Congrats Stefan.
