Spicy Chocolate

My friend buys a neat little novelty gift. It is called “The Sweet Taste of Revenge”, a collection of chocolate bars, one of which is called “Spite”. Spite is a “spicy” chocolate bar. I think, “Okay, chocolate with a little kick. No big deal.” Here’s what I got: Starts out with yummy chocolate. A nice, slightly bittersweet treat. “Not bad”, I think. Then as I am enjoying the chocolaty goodness my mouth bursts into flames  . Chocolaty goodness gone  . Just this molten mass of fire that I’m sure is going to cause 2nd and 3rd degree burns, which I now have to swallow. Painful as it is, down the hatch it goes. I’m left with a smoldering tongue, melted earwax, weeping eyes, and stunned idiot trauma as I stand there fanning my mouth in the naked shame of my stripped manhood :frowning: .

What other flavors are in a collection of chocolate bars called “The Sweet Taste of Revenge”?

 What is the company name, now I’m curious!

One is called Malice (milk chocolate) and I don’t remember the other one but it was dark chocolate.

I’ll have to get back to you an that. I’ll call my friend later and get the name.

Do you remember the company name? I want to see what else they’d offer, sounds like an interesting company, surely they sell some palatable chocolates also? ETA: Ok, just saw your reply. Please do remember to ask, this curiousity is killing me. I don’t wanna be another victim of the vengeful chocoaltes!

The third chocolate bar is called Vengeance.

Ooh! Sounds yummy! I’ve enjoyed jalapeno-flavored chocolates before, and love habanero jelly on chocolate iced cream!

The latter made one of my co-workers scream and weep and clutch his throat, though. But that was okay, I got to eat his too!

I’m totally there too, QtM. I’ve been known to dump a tablespoon of pepper (or a teaspoon of cayenne) in the brownies. Nice little kick and I get them all to myself. It’s win win.

I haven’t forgotten. Still waiting to hear back from my friend.

A local business serves drinking chocolate, one of which is very fiery. I made the mistake of ordering it without the whipped cream.

If the chocolate straight-up is too hard on you, try melting it (along with some cocoa and sugar) into chocolate - stuff like that makes killer hot chocolate.

How about a salty chocolate, does anyone know of one? I made chocolate-covered cashews for my aunt’s birthday last week, and the left over melted chocolate was sublimely salty.

Vosges (a chocolate company based in Chicago, I believe) makes high-end chocolate bars, and I believe one is spiked with chipotle chilis or cayenne powder. The one to die for, however, is the bacon chocolate bar. It’s outstanding.

If you have any high-end, fancy cooking or cookware stores around you, they might carry the Vosges bars. If not, there’s always online ordering (tho’ their site is pretty slow to load, sorry.)

Vosges makes two different spicy chocolate bars- the Red Fire and the Oaxaca. Red Fire has some cinnamon, too, and is great. They also have the Barcelona, which has hickory smoke almonds and gray sea salt, and the Goji, which has goji berries and Himalayan pink salt. Lake Champlain has Aztec Spicy chocolate, and a nut and sea salt one, too.

The Sweetest Revenge chocolate bars were distributed by Target.

Thank you! Depending on what is in them I might give each a cautious nibble, with a glass of milk already poured.
