Spider bites

About two weeks ago I hauled and stacked a cord of wood. I got a few bites but didn’t pay much attention. Five days later, last friday, while turning over in bed, the room started jerking back and forth. This also happened the next night. On sunday, I woke up with major dizziness and nausea and my neck glands were enlarged and the left one hurt just to brush my fingers against. I had to stay in bed three days. On sunday I had also discovered three more bites on my stomach. Since we have no doctor for 30 miles and I couldn’t drive and there is no one to take me, I decided to take 200mg of doxycycline. Now, 10 hours later I feel about 60% better. I know it was stupid and what does a spider bite have to do with bacterial infection, but I just didn’t know what else to do. I looked up spider bites on the internet but all I can find is info about the really poisoness ones, like the Black Widow, or the Brown Recluse. As I sit here I still feel like barfing, and my head is still spacy, but my glands have gone down and I feel somewhat better. I have no temp, or joint aches. Has anyone else had this experience with just an ordinary spider bite?

The lymph nodes in my groin mysteriously swelled up and became sore when I was eighteen or so. I don’t remember having any other symptoms. The doctor looked all over and finally found 3 tiny holes at the small of my back - a spider bite. I have no idea what kind.

I imagine if I had been bitten as many times as you I might have felt quite a bit worse.

You should go see a doctor just to be on the safe side.

When I get a spider bite it swells to about the size of a dinner plate. Very freaky.

Wow, that is huge. Do you have any other symptoms with it?

I do not know why, but some spider bites seem to be very prone to developing an infection.

Time to bomb your house with a “spider fogger”, and lay glue traps along every wall and corner…
