Spinal Stenosis

Cymbalta is a potential alternative to gabapentin. I used it for several years for nerve pain in my back and it worked quite well. Something to remember to ask about if gabapentin stops working as well (gabapentin can also cause weight gain).

I tried Gabapentin for a few days, but as prescribed (3x per day) it made me too sleepy. I tried one a day, and it didn’t help with the pain much. I may try it again, now that the pain is reduced thanks to the exercises. Or maybe I’ll try Cymbalta. Thanks for the suggestion.

I’m going through this myself. Gabapentin and Flexeril are keeping the pain tolerable while I make my way through the stuff they make you do before they will approve surgery or injections.

I have to wait 6 to 8 weeks to even get started on the PT.

I had an injection back in 2012 and that did wonders, but it is starting to fail, so I need a new injection in my neck. I don’t know yet what I will need in the lower back area.

Getting old sucks hind teat and my sympathies go out to all my fellow sufferers. Here’s hoping for good outcomes.
