Spineless, gutless Republicans

Is someone really scared or is this just trolling?

Most of the “Epstein Files” are public knowledge by now aside from some info that might reveal personal info of minors and endanger them. I’m not even really sure what they want to release anymore.

Wait. Didn’t the America-hating fuckstick just cancel their recess until they passed something he wanted that wasn’t moving fast enough?

Really? They are public?

Yes, a lot of the information is in the public domain.

Although the contents of any unreleased documents remain unknown, the existing materials in the public domain mention a number of high-profile figures who were connected Epstein.

Again, this does not imply any wrongdoing by those individuals.

Dozens of names were mentioned in a release of court documents in 2024.

Obviously, it wasn’t all of them, but I believe the largest bulk is public. Now, what isn’t public yet may end up being the most damaging, I don’t know. Though I believe the main reason the other parts weren’t revealed was to protect personal information about victims.

I know this has been posted elsewhere on SDMB already, but this video is very illuminating and explains more.

Silly me, I thought Bill Cassidy had a grown a pair of balls. But, it doesn’t look like he retained them for long.

In reversal, Senate votes to block war powers resolution, delivering Trump a win - ABC News

Hours after President Donald Trump blasted Sen. Bill Cassidy for supporting a war powers resolution that narrowly passed the Senate on Tuesday, Cassidy helped to deliver Trump a victory by voting with the majority of Republicans late Wednesday to block a separate resolution aimed at reining in the president’s war powers in Iran from advancing.

The Senate voted 47-50-1 late Wednesday to block a war powers resolution led by Democratic Sen. Tim Kaine from moving forward. The resolution, which aims to limit Trump’s ability to wage war in Iran but does not have the force of law, had narrowly advanced in a previous procedural vote.

It was a remarkable departure for Louisiana Republican senator who, just hours previously, was in a shouting match with the president during a lunch between Trump and the GOP conference.

Either it’s all scripted performance art, or there really is a lot of compromising videos out there. Nothing else explains the GOP behavior.

Evidently, Cassidy still thinks he can resurrect some semblance of a political career after Trump is gone.

But all he’s accomplishing is cementing his reputation as a gutless sycophant, earning the contempt of MAGAs and whatever’s left of the traditional GOP.

What’s left of the traditional GOP you could scrape off the bottom of your shoe.

Can we just go ahead and change the name of this thread from Spineless, gutless Republicans to The Bill Cassidy Depreciation Thread?

I just received a text claiming that the house has just passed the SAVE act. It came with a warning about the message potentially being a phishing attempt.

Anyone else hear anything about the house passing this?

Last I heard, Mike “I Know Nothing” Johnson had sent the House home early for the July 4th break. So I doubt it’s real.

The House passed it months ago. It’s DOA in the Senate.

That would be great going into my patriotic, drunken weekend.

ETA: I didn’t know that the house already passed it. Nevermind me, thanks Smapti

@bobot’s text supposedly said “just passed.” Which would be difficult if they’re in recess.

Well, I looked again, and the opening is BREAKING: The house has already passed…

Then later it says: So before the senate votes…

Then it personally insults me with: …we’re asking for the 13th time

Reminds me of when Lloyd in Dumb and Dumber finds out that we landed on the moon (from looking at a framed, vintage newspaper) and is amazed that it finally happened.

(The person who sent you that text, I mean.)
