I don’t drink very much or spend a lot of time stomping in bars. The best beer on tap is often Guinness, which I have drank for many years.
Perhaps a year ago, barflies started mentioning “splitting the G” when they saw me drinking Guinness. This refers to a challenge where you are served the stout in a Guinness pint glass and attempt to drink enough on the first sip so the level of the beer bifurcates the G on the glass.
The Interwebz implies a perfect sip is about 2.5 regular sips, and gives several links dated 2024 or 2025. But where did this begin? Have you heard of it? I’ve been drinking Guinness for years but this challenge seems fairly new… Any devious strategies for success?
