Oh, I completely agree. I didn’t mean to imply that I think it’s appropriate, just that it’s not as uncommon as we might hope.
As one who just finished watching the CSI season 1 DVD set, the episode you reference is infact from the first season.
CSI is now, in what, it’s 4th or 5th season? The aging of the child sounds pretty accurate to me.
Y’see, I interpreted that scene differently:
Here’s a suspect who knows exactly what’s he’s done, why he’s done it, and what the legal, moral, and spiritual consequences will be. There’s nothing Grissom can do to make him ashamed of his actions or fearful of legal retribution. Which means here are none of the usual “hooks” Grissom might use to occupy the moral high ground and stare down at the suspect like he usually does.
Poor Grissom had to go through an entire episode without one opportunity to exhibit his typical smarm. You could see him trying during the confrontation with D.B. Woodside’s character too, but it just wasn’t meant to be.
Yeah, yeah…it’s an odd way to get my schadenfreude. But sometimes you just want to give Grissom such a smack…
:smack: I should have known better; I have the first season on DVD, too. She still doesn’t look 12 to me, though.
Well, if you want to nit-pick, sure
