WTF?
And double ditto for next week’s teaser.
WTF?
And double ditto for next week’s teaser.
Yah, they didn’t even do us the courtesy of putting up a “To Be Continued” notice.
If anyone can explain that last bit, I’d be much obliged.
I don’t think it was a ‘to be continued…’ as much as it was a grissom finally found a clue that could be useful… I really dont want them to have multi-episode arcs…
Did anyone die laughing when Doc Robbins and Grissom were singing? Then laugh harder when Doc Robbins sang the cause of death?
Anyone care to spoil what happened for those of us who were unconscious after a final exam?
Where the heck did that “fallen chair” picture come from? I must have blinked and missed some critical exposition.
It looks like the running stories are both so complicated that to fit story progression into a tidy hour, they have to come out of nowhere with these weirdly rushed scenes. It might have worked better had they run the diorama murder in a two-parter with Willow’s pseudo-rape introduced the last five minutes sliding into another two-parter, but I guess that’d blow the inevitable moment when both cases are somehow linked together.
Appearance by John Mayer, a multi-episode arc … I wonder if somebody’s a little rattled by a certain medical show that just moved into the neighborhood?
The two cases (Grissoms model and Catherines) we’re not linked together… they managed to pull a print off of the inside door of Catherine’s car… it matched a print pulled from an apartment robbery… in the folder for the robbery was a picture of the chair that the kidnappers had Lindsey tied up to… Personally, I noticed that the hardwood floor matched before I saw the chair… they went there, saved lindsey and got one of the two perps involved.
Who knew Doc Robinson could sing!
I suspect they will be in some tortured fashion next week, though.
Seriously doubt it, as Catherine’s case was nicely tied up at the end…which also, more or less, satisfied the first case… without it being over obvious that they would end up tied together. Only real issue I have with that one is how the other partner, and the co-hort ‘knew’ to go after Catherine/Lindsey - relationship there isn’t neccisarily well known, and not something Sam would likely tell a couple of business partners… much more believable for them to go after Mom (after having seen her/Sam together dating). It also seems somewhat of a stretch for the perps (one of which was only introduced in the bar/at the end. That’s quite an elaborate scheme to set up…
No clue on the other case… I still think the nanny did it… he probably wasn’t going to leave current wife like he left the first one (that he was never totally with to begin with…)
I dunno, I bet that bartender was involved somehow. I’m not yet sticking a fork in that storyline.
They ARE connected, in that Danny Bonaduce’s contract was to be with the Excelsior hotel that Catherine’s father was building that the gay guys lost the money on.
Did anybody else like that they used Danny’s childhood/teenage pictures all over the house?
But where were the rest of the family? I seem to remember at least three other sibs (and a hot blond mom…)
I was amused when I realized Doc was jamming out to the dead guy’s music–I really lost it when I saw that Grissom was singing with him.
If the whole dollhouse storyline somehow gets dropped, I’m going to be pissed. Okay, doll’s eye on the back of the picture is somehow important. I even understand that I’m stupid and don’t see how it’s important, and can’t wait to have it explained. But I have a horrible feeling that we’re never going to hear about Izzy and Mini-Izzy again.
I don’t mind the idea of stretching cases over two episodes. It somehow feels more real, to me. Not every case can be solved neatly and easily in 45 minutes. I am, however, dreading the inevitable Catherine-angst. One of the things I’ve always liked about this show was that it’s about the cases, not the investigators. I don’t really give a damn about their private lives.
Sean Young and Danny Bonaduce. That’s some serious crazy right there.
I kind of half-heard somebody saying something that indicated he knew about Grissom and Sara. Was that Eckley?
Sara agreed with Grissom that Eckley shouldn’t release the info about the model to the press. Eckley said, “of course you would.”
That could mean he knows about them or it could just mean he knows that Grissom’s team always chooses Grissom’s opinion over his. I think we’re meant to read it any way we want.
The fun thing about CSI is that it always wrapped up its cases in one episode, so it didn’t matter if you missed one or what order you saw them in. If they’re now pandering to the goofy audiences who want a storyline stretched over an entire season, I’m disappointed with them.
I am definitely part of the goofy audience, but I can see your point. I liked the old way, and I liked the new way. I won’t be upset if they go back to the two-cases-a-show, wrapped up in an hour format, though.
I’m wondering if Catherine’s rape is a means to ease her out by season’s end. The fact that she didn’t report it, means she won’t get counseling. Her rapist won’t be punished. Eventually, she’ll either become a loose canon, or just lose her edge.
A) She wasn’t raped, just drugged. The swabs for semen and condom lubricants both came back negative.
B) The guy who drugged her was shot, after shooting her father. Either or both may be dead. If the shooter survives, he will be punished.
C) Having her daughter kidnapped and her father shot is sufficient trauma for one episode. They don’t need a rape on top of that.
D) If her father dies, she could be the new casino heir. That might also cause some disruption to her day job.
This was my first CSI episode ever…
… are they all usually like this? I didn’t really enjoy having the two separate plots at the same time that were really unconnected. It was really jarring to go from a scene with a nasty accident and kidnapping to a few investigators looking at porn sites.
I was definitely interested, but it was a little… disjointed for my taste. I was also frustrated with the ending and then preview for the next week’s episode that didn’t seem to continue with this week’s plot.
