Nothing particular to say about this so far except that if things stay as they are at half time in this and the other Group G match (Ecuador vs. Croatia), Italy are **out ** of the World Cup.

It’s been a very lively first half and I’m less than sad two Italians have already been booked for diving: What’s the world coming too when two Italian’s can’t dive convincingly ?

Well, Italy scrape out a tie from the jaws of defeat on the one moment of true brilliance by their midfield. I think Mexico made a mistake with their substitutions, because tired or not, the Mexican lineup was controlling the ball, knew what each of them was going to do, and didn’t seem to have trouble with Italy. The subs however never got into the same possession cadence and as a result, Italy started getting the possession it needed to carve out a chance.

Does Del Piero start the next game ? Well, they could do with a midfield, that’s for sure.
Mexico looked comfortable towards the end. Just can’t believe Alen Boksic missed those chances for Croatia, plus the one off the line at the end.
So, there’s only going to be two South American teams in the last 16 (plus Mexico) and one African (plus, maybe, Tunisia joining them tomorrow).

THe only way I could watch it today (no cable) was at the gym. 2 hrs on a stationary bike and my bum is a hurtin’!
