So, anyone else here planning to do Blogathon?
I’m going to do it and the money goes to the MPD Foundation. You can read the whole info on why I’m doing it here. But now you want to know just what Blogathon is, or some of you do at least. Blogathon is a 24 hour period when bloggers get sponsoring to blog 48 times in a 24 hour period, once every 30 minutes. Blogathon 2002 raised $50,000 for various charities, this year I’m aiming to raise $1,000 just myself.
Why am I doing it for the MPD foundation? That foundation funds most of the research into the myeloproliferative family of diseases, of which my mother has one.
Basically what it is is a form of leukemia, where bones are filled with scar tissue thus interfering with production of cells, and the ones which are formed tend to be deformed.
