Spooky GQ for CS: Is it true that Sharon Tate saw "ghosts" in Jean Harlow's house?

The story is on the Internet and in print in several places, but it basically goes like this:

When Jay Sebring became Hollywood’s wealthiest hairdresser he bought Paul Bern & Jean Harlow’s house. It was in this house that Bern committed suicide two months after their wedding. A later owner committed suicide as well and two people later drowned in the pool. According to his friends (this much is verifiable), one reason that Sebring wanted the place was because it had such a morbid history.

Sebring began dating Sharon Tate and they were semi living together. Tate woke up one night and was horrified to see a ghostly person in front of her.

Sorry- wasn’t finished:

According to some sources, Tate told a reporter named

DAMN! For some reason this keeps posting without me hitting submit- sorry-

According to some sources, Tate told a reporter named Dick Kleiner that she later identified the ghost as Paul Bern. He ran around her room and vanished and she went screaming into the hallway. At the bottom of the stairwell she saw a man lying in agony with a slit throat and a noose around his very bloody neck. She closed her eyes in horror and when she opened them again the vision was gone. (Again, according to some accounts, she later said that the person was either Jay Sebring or herself.)

Of course later, Tate and Sebring separated and she married and became pregnant by Roman Polanski, but she and Sebring remained great friends. When they were murdered by the Manson cult, Sebring’s throat was not slit but he was so bloody from being repeatedly shot and stabbed that it would have been hard to tell a difference at a glance, and a noose was tied around his neck and connected to another noose at the end of the rope looped around Sharon’s neck.

If this is true then it’s the spookiest “true” ghost story I’ve heard (by true I mean that it actually was documented that she described this occurence years before her death). However, some of the sites aren’t documented at all and others use Kenneth Anger as a source. Does anybody know if Tate actually saw this? (The reporter Dick Kleiner is mentioned in some sources but never with an actual date that his story appeared or even the name of his paper.)

How ghostly.

Do you mean there actually was a ghost? That is, at the very least, debatable…

Pardon- what I mean is “Did Tate actually REPORT that she saw this prior to her murder (i.e. is it documented that she claimed seeing the victim with the noose)”. If so, it’s one helluva spooky story, but it also sounds like something that might have been cooked up to add mysticism after the fact.
