Well, maybe you can say all MGB’s were tame, but the older ones were better than the newer. The changes they had to make (for ride height and emissions, mostly) adversely affected the power, handling and looks. I’d say 1969 was the last great year for the B.
[sub]Guess what year mine is.[/sub]
Only for men with bad comb-overs.
My husband loves driving my 'Vette, as he did my Toyota Celica convertible.
BTW, you spelled “convertible” wrong. Ok, you corrected it the second time, but, still…
Real men prefer the Valkyrie.
[sub]What? It’s a convertible, sort of.[/sub]
See, I just knew my new ‘Stang didn’t come with the complete package like the sales guy said. I’m goin’ back to the dealership tonight!
As opposed to the new ones? ;
I used to drive a MG Midget. Anyone who knows the terror of sharing the road with logging trucks on the freeway while having your ass strapped to a skateboard with a motor just inches away from your lap (In the winter I could turn off the heater and just bask in the warmth radiating through the firewall) would never call it a girly car.
If Subaru made the WRX as a convertible…would it still be girly given the whole lesbian/Subaru thing?
There’s a lesbian/Subaru thing?? The Z4 won’t make me butch, but the more affordable WRX will?
Yup. As opposed to the new ones.
No MGB’s on that page.
Well, yeah.
Prepare to qualify…
Gentleman, I give you:
20k and the front grill looks like a pair of testicles.
Holy shit … I’m in love…
So close, yet so far off. The last real MGB was the metal dash '67 with a real glovebox. Not that rolled nagahyde safety dash that the 68-73s had.
Guess what year mine is?
Rick beat me to it. 1968 saw the ‘Abingdon Pillow’ replacing the glovebox on North American cars. (The metal dash continued in other markets, but I don’t remember the last year. 1973? 1974?)
Although I’m partial to 1966 MGBs for sentimental reasons, I think the '67 was the best year for North America. Metal dash, toggle switches, still had 95 hp, still had the great grille. (Let’s not mention the ‘black hole’ grille that came out in '70!)
…the hell? Is that a real car? It looks just like The Ambiguously Gay Duo’s car!
