Spot-on covers

Velvet Revolver also did a pretty satisfying cover of that song. Featuring Slash on guitar and Scott Weiland on vocals.

You should hear them do Earth, Wind & Fire.

Boy Howdy! That broke my Google!

There is a bluegrass band.
Not whateverhisnameis’n’seagulls their version is awful, not The Cleverlys, although I thought it was them until I went hunting the video I watched. For the life of me I cannot remember the name of ths group. 2 skinny men, 2 women, did a cover of AC/DC’s Thunderstruck that is exactly perfect. Who would have thought that a hard rocking song about a drunken gangbang orgy would make such a good bluegrass song.

I did try to post links, but my phone is on a links diet right now and kept eating the posts, so sorry about that. If you go looking, whatshisface and his birds are ok, the cleverlys were terrible.

Too late for the edit, i meant the cleverlys were awful amd whats his name and seagulls were ok compared to each other. Youtube was insistent that those were the only ones i was allowed to see.

Remembered a couple more: In 1974, Larry Weiss released a song he wrote, Rhinestone Cowboy, which got a limited amount of radio airplay. But one of the persons who heard it was Glen Campbell, and a year later his version went to #1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.

Also in 1974, Tim Moore released a song that he wrote, Second Avenue, which peaked at #58. Unfortunately for him, Art Garfunkel released a version at the same time, which peaked at #34.
