Spotify / Alexa combo driving me to drink

I have a premium Spotify account and multiple Amazon Alexa devices scattered throughout the house.

I don’t know who to blame, Spotify or Alexa, but one of them is having a good laugh messing with my head.

Devices come and go willy-nilly in the Spotify app. That “living room” Echo that I use most? It went away a few days ago, returned for a half a day, and is gone again. The “spare bedroom” Echo does the same thing. Today, the “play everywhere” option is gone from Spotify.

That’s not all. The “bathroom” now plays in the spare bedroom. The “kitchen” device plays in the bathroom (this after I painstakingly connected and named each device).

I have tried logging out and back into Spotify with no joy. I guess I have to mess around in the Alexa app to try and straighten things out.

But, but…why can’t these things just be stable once I’ve set them up?

Does anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions?

Why, oh why do all these terrible things happen to me?

mmm

We had it too. FWIW I ended up calling Spotify for help and they were very patient and did help solve our issues. For us it was that we have a mesh network of extenders and the different devices were variably connecting to different sub networks? It’s been fine since anyway.
