Spotify - any way to suppress cover versions?

Many times when I search for a song in Spotify, it’s hard to find the “real” version among all the covers (“in the style of”, “tribute to”, etc.) It almost seems like they’re doing it deliberately - maybe they’re charged on the backend every time someone plays a song, and the originals are more expensive? </conspiracy theory>

I’d like an option to “only show original versions” in search results, but I don’t see one and Google isn’t helping.

Question… Any chance you have the cover version loaded in your own iTunes library or anywhere like that? I had some covers in mine that Spotify was using to fill in certain tracks on albums and I had to manually remove the link to my owned songs. This might not be your issue though.

100% sure I don’t - my music library is actually empty on this 'puter.

One work-around I’ve found is to sort by “Popularity” - the original is almost always the most popular.
