…it’s spam. 
- Hovering over the thread link shows a bunch of streaming episodes of UFC events, recently released movies or, oddly, whatever major sports event is about to happen, as if we can’t all find a way to ‘stream’ the Superbowl or NASCAR on our own.
Honestly, any thread running coach responds to, I just assume is spam and delete the thread and ban the user.
Users beware.
Is it just my perception, or have the numbers of these spammers increased? Seems more frequently, as well.
They seem to come in waves
Most of the spam that gets through the automatic spam filtering comes from one small group in Bangladesh. They are the ones responsible for all of the live stream crap. They’ve been hitting the board (and other boards) particularly hard since the Olympics started.
I’m curious what a quantum code review is. I sure as hell ain’t clicking, but the last time I hovered over a link it was to linkedin. Still not clicking. Maybe if I was on a Mac.
Watch the Olympics on one of these…

And 4) The spammer will not react or complain when a poster posts a “Reported” because the spammer is usually out right away posting his spam elsewere.
Anything is better than this.

Yes.
Some spam that I have reported doesn’t fit that template. It’s a new poster, of course, but a post is appended to an existing thread, starting with something like, “What a great topic! Thanks for bringing it up…” followed by the spam text & links. I guess they think the compliment will disarm mods into thinking they are regular posters, but most of us – mods included – are smarter than that.
Yeah, I’d really like to know what Running Coach’s secret is.
It’s one weird trick that spammers hate.
Just sit at the computer every waking moment, hitting “New Posts” as often as possible.
