The thread title pretty much says it all-Spybot SD 1.2 will run fine until I seek download of updates. Three items are listed, and once download is requested, the program hangs, and Ctrl+Alt+Del is the only way out of town.
Has anyone else experienced this? If so, what to do? Thanks.
Did you try selecting a different mirror (the drop-down button right next to the download button)? The default on mine is UniDo (Europe) and it always hangs up on me if I forget to change it. If I switch to FXClips (USA), I get my download right away.
Same thing for me, except I’m in the US and have to use the Australia mirror.
Pick a mirror not on your continent and you should be fine.
That was it. Switched to rootboxen (USA) and the download went perfectly. Mine was set to UniDo. Many thanks, gentlemen. 
You can also go to their site and download it directly. I was having the same problem, looked at their FAQs (wherein they provided a fairly testy response to people who complain), and have had no problems downloading from the site.
