Prioritize long, unterrupted sleep for at least three nights before the interview. Too many times I’ve exhausted myself early in the week, carefully scheduling an early night for the night before, only to find myself too excited/nervous to take advantage of it.
Any news yet?
Holding good thoughts for you, and thanks for starting this thread. I have an interview tomorrow and it’s been very helpful.
yeah smart move, I have had people interview who obviously had a big weekend and that makes me suspicious.
don’t be scared to talk about how good you are, no one likes a smartarse but not selling yourself is one of the things that can make a difference. I have seen people in interviews who I know very well and they come across as a bit lukewarm.
Still no news?
So - still no news?
I wish I could have done this. I have a phone interview tomorrow at 7 am. I normally wake up around 7:30. I’m planning to hit bed in an hour with the help of some sleep meds to give myself enough time to wake up and get alert, but I haven’t gotten much good sleep the past week so I’m kind of nervous about it.
Update a month later. I didn’t get that job. I never got any input as to why I didn’t, I just was informed that the position went to another applicant.
BUT…
I have another interview TODAY. In a few hours in fact. I came back to look at this thread to make sure I remembered all the good advice I got. This position is similar to the last one I interviewed for, with the biggest difference being that it is full time instead of part-time. That’s good in terms of money, but it will certainly cause more stress on my family, as they are used to me being able to attend their chorus performances, chaperon their field trips, and take them to extra-curricular activities that start at 4. But I try to remember that most families have both parents working full time, and they do fine. Change isn’t a bad thing, it can be a chance for growth.
Wish me luck!
Good luck!
