squeee, all 6 seasons of NCIS arrived!

HAPPY DANCE …

I am now digging into episode 1, season 1 …

39 DVD s… may god have mercy on my sleep cycle…

“Rosebud” turns out to be the name of Jethro’s boat.

I would believe that …

The boat frame has pretty lines …

I just picked up season six, and watched some last week.
Let me know when you get to season six. I’m still confused about the episode “Knockout.”

(Yeah, I know, confused by an episode of NCIS. I need help.)

The detached retina thing confusing you?
The show seems to be setting up the viewer to wonder if Vance switched identities with Tyler Keith, the boxer from Vance’s old neighborhood. Gibbs’ comment about how he used to think he could spot a Marine, the lack of a Marine personnel file for Keith, the medical discharge for a detached retina story Vance told his family that seems to gibe with the dead body’s ALSO having had such surgey.

I don’t think there’s a definitive answer; I think the writers wanted to drop the leads and let them percolate.
Bricker, yeah, that’s it, but it was confusing.
At the very beginning of the show, the girlfriend (or wife?) of the bad guy called Vance “Teak.” Tyler’s full name was Tyler Keith Lastname, so Teak (TK?)would be an obvious nickname.
There was no evidence of Tyler’s service record, but Vance had a photo of him on his office wall in uniform.

What I’m guessing is the real Vance (the boxer who was killed) went to the Naval Academy, but was medically discharged because of the retina issue. For some reason, he and Tyler decided to switch identities. Maybe the real Vance wanted to go back to the life of a boxer and the real Tyler wanted the military career?

Why did they do this?
When did the switch occur?

Why didn’t the girlfriend make any comment on it? She had to be in on it. She was Tyler’s sister, right? She called the man we know as Vance “Teak” at the beginning, but knew he was now Vance, director of NCIS. And obviously, she knows what each guy looked like.

At the end of the previous season, after Jenny was killed and Vance called the team into his office to reassign them, we saw him pull his own folder out and remove something from it and shred it. I assume it was something to do with the switched identities.
I’m getting inordinately excited about the new season being almost upon us. I just started watching NCIS earlier this year, and between the reruns and Hulu I’ve seen just about all of the episodes so far.

Enjoy your marathon! I ended up printing an episode list out and checking them off as they aired in repeats in whatever order or lack thereof they aired.

Why do they keep showing the same seven (or so) episodes? I just started watching it and was hoping to catch up a little, keep seeing the same ones run over and over…

I would guess that’s a network decision. They usually show the last few episodes from the previous season right before the new season starts, so everyone can get caught up on recent events.

Actually, I got them because I got tired of the same 20 episodes … and decided to get the boxed set so I could have all the episodes.

They came in a nice enough box, but a set of funny soft folders that made it sort of hard to sort through them easily, so I got a multidisc binder that holds them all. It will go nicely on my bookshelf. I tend to remove the dvd and cd i buy and put them in binders instead of keeping them in all the damned cases. Much better use of space for my usage.
