Squirrel Diva plays it up for my camera

I’ve got a ton of them, but I just had to share one of my faves. I went to Fort Tryon park in New York yesterday afternoon, and spotted a squirrel running around on the other side of a stone wall. I snapped off a couple of pics, which got his attention. He started running up the tree, stopping every so often so that I could take a picture. This one that I’ve linked to was one of the best poses - he sat there for nearly 10 seconds while I fired off shot after shot, and resumed picking new places to pose for me. Great stuff.

What a wonderful picture. And a well-fed appearing squirrel, too.

Yeah I imagine his well-fed…edness… and his friendliness are very closely linked

The squirrel looks so cheerful/hopeful. Like maybe you have food and it doesn’t want to miss it…

Great shot!

Hope you paid him, even if it were peanuts. :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s uncanny how animals seem to know what a camera is. I’ve shot probably hundreds of critters in my career. You could hold up a toaster and they’d pay no mind, but a camera.

Great shot, by the way.

Glad everyone enjoyed it  (And thanks to people who apparently have been rating my pic very generously  ) I’ll be in Spain for a day tomorrow, so maybe I’ll run into some friendly Spanish fauna to take pics of.
