Stamp Collectors: proper way to mount a stamp in a display frame.

I have several old stamps that I’d like to give as gifts. I want to mount one stamp in the middle of a board. On top of that will be a mat with a bevelled-edge window. The stamp will show through the window. The whole business will go in a glass-front picture frame.

How do I mount the stamp to the back board? Of course I could just lick the thing, or use Elmer’s Glue, but that would make real collectors gasp. (Not that these are for real collectors – they’re just token keepsakes who will find the stamp design interesting. So if the suggestions are to expensive or daunting, that’s what I’ll do.)

I should state right off that the stamps are not very valuable – only worth about a buck each. The mat + frame arrangement will cost more!

Oops.

that should read:

Sorry.

If you’re lucky enough to live in a town with a stamp store, buy a packet of Showguard mounts. They can tell you how to use. This is the best.

But lickng and sticking may have to work.
