Star Trek: Into Darkness international trailer

See it here.

And some people still think that Benedict Cumberbatch is Khan. So Khan is a “top Starfleet agent”? Still could be Gary Mitchell. Maybe.

I notice that imdb has Alice Eve as Carol Marcus. Is that confirmed?

Second movie. They didn’t waste any time wrecking the enterprise this time around, did they?

If that *is *the Enterprise. Could be any Constitution-class ship.

“Where no man has gone before: into darkness.”

At 1:54, you can see “NCC-1701” on the saucer section. It’s the Enterprise.

Nerd.

Actually, yes we all know that. I just wanted to subscribe to watch Youtube later.

Darn.

CUMBERBAAAAAAAAAAATCH!

That’s definitely Alice Eve in her undies in the trailer.

Holy shit. Excuse me, I have to go get in line.

Love the heavy Earth settings - I think I’ve been waiting for that since about 1967. The brief BG stuff and time-travel stuff was just annoying in that respect.

I think Cumberbatch could easily still be Khan - that augmented humans might have first been accepted, even into Starfleet, is entirely sensible, and he is “better at everything.”

He’s not half the man Khan was. Well, not half the chest, anyway.

Consider this: BC’s character might not be named Khan at first, but when he decides he’s the pinnacle of human development, he takes ‘Khan Noonien Singh’ as his roots-based nom de guerre. ‘Khan Singh’ is a pretty bombastic name, after all.

The problem with him being Khan, of course, is that the superhumans were sent off into space two hundred years before Kirk. Maybe… they came back?

I still disbelieve that was Montalban’s real chest in the movie. And have no idea how they did the skinny Steve Rogers. Just sayin’.

Kirk was an ensign on the Republic, and Lieutenant on the Farragut before taking commander of Enterprise. Maybe the Eugeneics Wars didn’t happen this time around.

Starfleet quietly intercepted the Botany Bay on a tip from Old Spock and put its passengers into protective custody.

Vulcans never tip.

Racist.

No, back up. The change in history happened at the time of Kirk’s birth. We have to assume that history (canon) was the same up to that point. The Eugenics Wars were in the 1990s, old history by the time JTK was blown out of an exploding supernova. (To be fair, my comments above didn’t think this through, either.)

I like the thought that the Botany Bay was recovered, for good reasons or bad, and that Khan is in Starfleet for that reason, under an assumed name. Maybe it wasn’t even recovered by humans, but by… Romulans who got the information from something Old Spock said?

By that logic, it’s possible Kirk never done the guy wrong, though from the trailer it seems he’s about to piss Kirk off. Which means we could be in for Kirk ranting about how the guy tasks me – he tasks me – and I shall have him! I’ll chase him round the Moons of Nibia, and round the Antares Maelstrom, and round Perdition’s flames before I give him up! Kirk has managed to kill everyone else, but like a poor marksman keeps missing the target…

“KIIIIIIIRK!”

“From hell’s heart, I stab at Khan! For hate’s sake, I spit my last breath at Khan!”

I just assume these guys are screwing around with Star Trek.

I can’t find the scene from The Doomsday Machine on You Tube, dammit.
Vulcans never bluff.
