"Star TreK" trivia contest

I swore it was the same as our office combination and looked it up in Memory Alpha. There would appear to be at least two different combinations from this trivia.

Miles?

All three correct (and need not have been spoilered).

Question numbers added. Enola, please read the OP. Thanks!

'kay.
“Miles” is not the name I’m looking for.

That’s not what I heard. I’d heard if they’d used the name Locarno, they would have had to pay residuals to the author of the original TNG episode.

153: Self preservation circuit?

154: ‘Take a leak’

162.) (From the novelization) In The Wrath of Khan, how much space did the game take up that the Lab guys were writing in their spare time? What planet did it ‘swallow’?

You’re right; that was certainly a factor. But Locarno also came off as a much bigger jerk than Paris, so even besides the name change, they were pretty different characters.

Plus Locarno had more hair.

Some as-yet unanswered questions, and their answers:

131. Near what nebula is the Enterprise-D to meet the USS Kearsarge in TNG “Firstborn”?

The Vodrey Nebula.

146. What four Constitution-class starships take on the Enterprise in war games in TOS “The Ultimate Computer”?..

The USS Lexington (Commodore Wesley’s flagship), the USS Potemkin, the USS Hood and the particularly ill-fated USS Excalibur.

155. In TOS “Dagger of the Mind,” Kirk saves the day with the help of what lovely Enterprise doctor?

The totally babelicious Dr. Helen Noel.

  1. Roykirk? (I think Jackson is the first name.) I know I read about this bit of cross-over-ness on the website that explains how almost every show ever broadcast is really the dream of the autistic kid on St Elsewhere. Knight Rider had (or mentioned) a character who had been mentioned (but had not appeared) in an episode of TOS. They included enough detail in KR to be sure that it was the same character, even if no one was meant to notice. Roykirk was the creator of Nomad, whom it mistook Kirk for.

Google Roykirk and the first hit is for “Roykirk Enterprises” :stuck_out_tongue:

Yes!

I’ll answer my own question as, it probably only stood out in my mind:

The game program consumed ‘Fifty Megs! Christ on a crutch! That program just swallowed Saturn!’

I guess it registerd in my fledgling geek mind when I read it.

  1. The “megs” reference from STII:TWOK reminds me… what nonexistent unit of computer capacity/efficiency was used in TNG (so as not to eventually become obsolescent)?

  2. Riker finds a long-dead NASA astronaut from what spacecraft in TNG “The Royale”?

  3. Garak once worked at the Cardassian embassy on what planet?

  4. Balok offers Kirk and his party what alien drink in TOS “The Corbomite Manuever”?

  5. Picard’s first starship command was the USS…?

Tranya, he hopes you relish it as much as he does

The Stargazer ‘always on the verge of shaking itself apart’

163: Kiloquads…wonder how many Library of Congresses there are in a kiloquad?

  1. Garak was a gardener at the Cardassian embassy on Romulus.

Both correct.

Correct answer. In context, I’d say there could be thousands of LoCs in a kiloquad. Given the computing power of the Federation’s technology, a kiloquad must be huuuuuuuuuuuuuge.

Hmmm. I believe that’s incorrect. Or am I wrong? I recalled that he’d worked at a Cardassian embassy on a different planet than that.
