Star Trek Voyager paid homage to Douglas Adams!

Well, thank gods they did. He deserved it.

In the most recent (second-last) episode, an alien threatens to strand Janeway on a planet. He says, “Don’t worry. The inhabitants are… mostly harmless.”

I was grinning from ear to ear.

And he wasn’t even dead yet when they produced that episode!

¿De qué estás hablando? He died on the 11th of May, the episode was released on the 16th. Quite enough time for them to put in a little gag like that, no?

And who said that Voyager was all bad?

You’re right, it probably did happen that way. I had taped it, and I just went back to that part. That phrase is said when the camera is NOT on the alien, but on Janeway and the Doctor instead, so all they had to do was add it in to the soundtrack.

How cool! And while that phrase rang a bell in my mind when I first watched it, I didn’t realize that it was probably deliberate until now! Thanks, matt!

I stand corrected. I didn’t realize it was an off-camera speaker who said the line.

Very cool.
