Star Wars Fuzzy Dice!

One of the bits of fan lore is that George Lucas stuck" fuzzy dice" hanging from about where the rear view mirror would be on the Millenium Falcon, probably as a tribute to his own cruisin’ days, and to American Grafitti.
They’re not really “fuzzy” – they seem to be very un-fuzzy metal, but there’s a pair of them, and you only get one good view of them in the film, the first time Chewy and Han enter the cockpit of the Falcon,. They bump against Chewy’s head. They’re not really visible in the rest of the film.
But I just noticed that you can see them in a shot that was either taken for a pub;liicity still, or which was a screen shot where the dice were hidden by the “frame” put around the camera output. The shot was one of the original Srar Wars collectors cards, and it’s today’s image on the Star Wars desk calendar. You can see it here, although it’s not quite as clear:

The reflective die is hanging almost exactly between Luke and Ben, above the doorway. You might mistake it for one of the cabin lights, but if you look close you can see that the shape of the thing is rhomboid – it’s the projection of one of the dice’s square vfaces at an angle. The other faces are partially in shadow, making them difficult to see. I never realized before that you could see it in this shot, too. I wobnder if Alec Guiness noticed.
