Star Wars Holiday Special (1978)

Aha! It self adjusts to the browser size!

One zombie re-animation deserves another:

They actually put out action figures specifically from the Holiday Special recently for the first time ever.

the lego starwars xmas special does nothing but make fun of it and a wonderful life …

If you don’t want to have to sit through the whole thing, there are now numerous YouTube videos recapping it, some more mocking than others. For a making-of angle there’s Secret Galaxy or Yesterworld. And of course there’s a Pitch Meeting and an Honest Trailer.

Just watched the documentary. It was pretty good, but I don’t think it needed to be an hour and a half.

I’ve just finished watching it myself tonight.

Someone in the doc described Life Day as “Wookie Rosh Hashanah”, which really made me laugh.

I could have gone my entire life without seeing Grandpa Wookie getting his Groove On.

To be fair, I was warned for years.

Dunno if it counts, but in 1974, on Star Trek: the Animated Series, the Enterprise had a holodeck.

I remember watching it as a kid, what I remember most was the Boba Fett cartoon, which was pretty cool.

I just watched the documentary about the special. The 70s were weird, we just accepted a Donnie and Marie Star Wars dance number.

I had never heard of that or the Richard Pryor thing.

I remember Sesame Street and The Muppet Show, though. I wonder why they weren’t mentioned?
