Stardew Valley

The mod that prevents friendships from decaying took a lot of stress off of me. Even without it, you only have to give two gifts a week to maximize your friendship output, but even so it’s good to know that I can do whatever I want and people will still like me.

I just don’t get how I can get things done on such a short time schedule. Days are over too quick.

How do I apply mods to prevent friend decay? How do I slow down time using a mod? I guess that is cheating, but I kind of want it.

I’m broke and crops take days to grow.

I have zero hearts across the board. How can I find any decent gifts?

The mine takes all days and I sometimes can not find the ladder down to the next level.

I can not accrue resources to make new things or upgrade my items.

How do I convert coper ore, etc?

It is a silly game, but I am overwhelmed.

Foraging and fishing can give you a decent amount of cash. Also check for quests on the bulletin board at the general store.

You do know that the elevator gets activated at every fifth floor you reach right? So you can just get an extra five levels each day.

I don’t know what the trigger is, but the blacksmith should eventually show up to your farm and give you the recipe to build a forge.

I read I should check trash cans. I do, but nothing ever comes out.

I didn’t find anything until I ended up having a cut scene where that homeless guy was digging through the trash. I still don’t find much but I’ve found seeds before. I won’t go out of my way, but if I’m passing a trash can it’s worth a look.

I did get a mod that allows me to pause time. I use it when I am thinking or ambling around looking for something. I also check that beach the repaired bridge leads to and feel OK pausing it to head down there.

I did get 9 cauliflower seeds for donating to the museum.

I feel like at least 2 years(8 seasons) will go by before I feel like I’m doing well. Maybe I’m just bad at this game.

Did any of the Harvest Moon games have an end? I remember one of them (64?) really stressing me out.

The fact that there’s no end game makes me more relaxed on this one. I’m not in a hurry to get anything done. Probably the biggest rush is:

Getting the items I need for the community center before the season ends

I do wish there was a “Save and Quit” anytime option. I don’t need to be able to save scum, I just want to be able to stop at anytime.

I can’t find a dandelion this spring to save my life. Had a few, didn’t know I would need them, and now have zero. Annoying.

I want the mod to prevent friend decay. Where can I get it and how do I put it in the game?

Do a search for “stardew valley mod manager.” I found a link to it on Nexus Mods and there was also a video walking through how to use it to install and manage mods for the game.

I have the mod manager. I do not see one to prevent friend decay.

When I get home I will find you a direct link to the mod - you have to go to the game’s forums and search through the mod section for releases of things, unfortunately. There’s no easily indexed database.

I think I found it. I’ll guess I’ll find out if it is working once I ignore my only friend(Leah).

So I bought the game the other day. I’m enjoying it, but I’m going to have to be careful not to sink too much time into it. It’s quite mesmerizing. I’m just starting my first fall season, and trying to upgrade my tools from copper to steel.

I was surprised at how much of an effect I got out of giving Penny the right gift on her birthday; I gained at least three hearts (got the achievement for a five-heart friendship as the gift vaulted me to seven hearts). The game’s wiki has a ton of useful info including who likes what gifts best.

Kids and I were disappointed that our best friends were not available to dance with at the flower festival. We ended up alone.

I had the copper watering can for a week before I found out I could “charge” it. I also didn’t realize that you could just hold down to keep swinging the axe and pickax.

I wish quality sprinklers didn’t require gold to craft. Regular sprinklers seem pointless, but I’m wasting half my energy every day just watering crops. I’ll probably cut down on what I plant once fall starts and focus on other sources of funds.

I had a fairly large field my first fall. I didn’t have much energy left after watering, but I did manage to get deep enough into the mines to dig up some gold. I just started my first winter. My winter goals are to get enough metal to be able to place good sprnklers by spring, and to work on my fishing. I believe one needs fish in order to make quality fertilizer.

I haven’t played for a while - I’m at the end of my first winter right now. I ended the fall with plenty of money in the bank. Using the regular fertilizer on all my crops was enough to get lkots of cash from selling. Just make sure to always use rainy days to go exploring in the mines.

I saw a review/overview today that mentioned they solved the “mystery howling” noises during rainy days. My kids and I have been wondering about that. Is there really something “haunted” or some other cause that makes the noises on rainy days?
